no cycling for you

I suppose God really didn't want me out cycling today. So He sent His good friend Murphy to tag along with me every step of the way. Well not exactly steps...but you get the idea. So I meet Luke at 0950, and everything seems perfectly normal. Just need to stop off a the Shell station to pump up the tyres and we're off. Lo and behold, its time for me to find out that the new Presta valve tubes that Jason so ardently recommended to me can't be pumped up using the air pumps in petrol stations. Its also around this time that I realise that I've left my hand-pump, the only one that can fit the valves now, sitting on the floor in my doorway at home.
Ok. Minor setback. I've been in worse before.
Luke hits on the idea of us going down to Rodalink to pump up my now seriously deflated front tyre. I skid a little on the way but we manage to limp our way there.

Closed!!! SMLJ why closed!!!?!?!?!!?

National Day la. Forgot.

KNNB, National my lan jiao day. Bloody lazy bastards.

Last resort. I borrow luke's bike and make my way back to my place to grab the pump and perhaps salvage our ride. For what its worth. I clambered up on his bike, thats way too small for me anyway, and hurried as best I could home. 25 minutes later, I'm back with the pump, to discover that Murphy really is a son of a bitch.

*pumpumpump*

Eh how come the tyre like never inflate one?

Hmm, if you're tired let me take over.

*pumpumpump*

What the?....hmmm...whats this..

*sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss*

Tyre sags spectacularly to the ground.

We watch in stupefied silence. Jesus himself might not have been on the receiving end of such stillness. The dawn breaks.

WTF!!!! KNNNBCCCB!!!!! BITCH !!! SLUT!!! STUPID HUNK OF SHIT!@!!!!!!@$!@#$!@#!@#$%!#

Unsurprisingly, we decide to walk our bikes back home. For a thrill, Murphy decided to come along even for that. My chain fell off en route.

If this is a tast of things to come. I'm pulling out of the NUS tri.
